Intelligence Check is an actual play series that's big on the laughs. It's a light-hearted show, using D&D 5e rules, set in the homebrew world of the Lichstone Empire. We've got dark and mysterious backgrounds, defensive elephants, weird gambling, oddly specific kobold slaughter, and tentacles. Way too many tentacles.

The heist is complete! Not only did they get the map needed to locate the enemy HQ, they also made a new ally! An ally who is unfortunately a bit of a creep. But they are powerful enough to break through the protective magics stopping teleportation and give the party a shortcut back to the Salty Narwhal. So, mixed feelings on that one.

With the map in hand, our team is off to find the enemy's base. There they hope to find their captured compatriot Palino. It turns out that the base has a few surprises in store for our intrepid rescuers. Including a substantial force of guards and a particular necromancer that Namee is not excited to see. Will the party be able to infiltrate the headquarters? Who will Way clean the floor with? And how helpful will Rady be in the fight? Get ready, because finding Palino is going to force our adventurers to get through a big horror!

Episode 117- Drag On Knowledge

It's mid-heist, and most of the party has made it to the arcane room of the mansion. The scene is the minotaur Jag bashing on the next door in the room to get it open. Violexx in her elf disguise has found a set of keys that she's hoping Jag will just try instead. Namee, transformed into a ferret, has summoned a swarm of mice to run wild throughout the party. And Way is standing there, rooting through his giant tortle backpack, worried about the footsteps he hears over Jag's attack on the door. Footsteps that are steadily coming down the hall towards them.

At the same time, the fairly intoxicated Rady is off on his own and has stumbled through a secret door in the wine cellar. A door that leads to a tunnel ending in stairs going down, deep into the ground.

Will Jag get that door open? Will the rampaging rodents be enough of a distraction to keep security from investigating the noise he's causing? Just who is coming towards that arcane room? What will happen that reminds Namee that hit points are a thing in this game? And what awaits them down the stairs, in the depths below the mansion? Let's just hope it's not helmed horrors!

Episode 116- Stole N

The heist is in full swing! With Rady, Jag, and Way already in the mansion, the time has come for Violexx and Namee to make their grand entrance! And what an entrance it is! Disguised as a high elf and wearing one of Jade's finest dresses, Violexx is bringing the class to this heist. And Namee is giving the guards something to think about!

Meanwhile Way is putting on a show for the guests. Rady is drinking on the job. And Jag is making some new friends.

As the party scouts out the mansion, what very specific suggestion will Namee have for Violexx? And what will he call upon that'll give the partygoers a fright? With the risk of discovery around every corner, let's hope the party can find what they're looking for without stumbling into too much trouble!

Episode 115- Threisted

Our adventurers need to infiltrate a party being hosted by leaders of the enemy faction. There, they hope to find a map showing the location of the enemy headquarters where they expect the captive Palino is being held. They've just put together their big plan to get into the party. And that's as far as they've got. If the plan stops once they get in the door is it really a plan? At best that's a fraction of a plan!

Thankfully they're being helped by a contact in the Silverkeep Thieves Guild. And it's Kort! He's back! Sure, he's still been around doing the intros and outros, but it's really entertaining making Kevin's characters talk to each other! And that conversation involves some tense negotiation over prices of the tools and services the guild can provide. Just kidding, it's Kort, he's terrible at negotiating! Although he does smoothly offer the heist insurance package. Thankfully for him Jade is there overseeing the process and also helping Violexx find the right dress for her disguise!

Will the adventurers get away with not paying for anything? When they get to the party, who will Jag need to yell at to get some respect? And what will Rady be wearing to be incognito? Let the heist with maybe 1/4th of a plan begin!

Episode 114- Jort

The Allied Forces have lost the battle, a defeat that culminated with the capture of their general Palino! Our team of adventurers has committed to rescuing him, but they don't know the location of the enemy's base where he has been taken. They've received word that information leading to that base can be located at the mansion of one of the enemy leaders. A mansion where a party celebrating their victory is about to be held. Do you know what that means? It's time for a heist!

Now, everyone knows that a successful heist requires a good plan. And our party, well they try, but they don't have a great track record with making plans and sticking to them. Thankfully they are good at just rolling with things! Or at least creating enough chaos and confusion to get what they need and slip away.

A good heist also requires the perfect location to meet up and plan before the heist! Like an abandoned warehouse. Or, maybe a really public tavern. And for that heist planning you're going to need reliable intelligence. How many guards are there? What's the lay of the land? Is there a butlery? That last one might be specific to this group though.

You're also going to need gear! Cool gadgets, communication devices, snazzy outfits. All the usual stuff! So you're going to need a trusted source to get that intel and that gear. Maybe from the representative of a local thieves guild? And it would really help if that representative is terrible with money and is bad at negotiating.

We might just know a guy...
